Fundraising for Charity for the First Time  -  Advice from your favorite fundraisers

It is so helpful to be knowledgeable about the charity you are fundraising for, so make sure to look up a few talking points ahead of time! Even better if you can speak about the impact of donations and where the money goes to. Also, don’t forget to have fun! Some of the best times with my community have been during fundraising streams because we are coming together to help a cause that is bigger than any one of us.

Just put yourself out there and enjoy yourself! Have fun with it and don’t take it too seriously. If you even raise one dollar, is one dollar more than they had yesterday! Spreading awareness goes so far, you never know who is watching your stream!

First, DO IT! It’s so amazing to use your stream to raise money for important causes. It gives you and your community purpose, and it’s so fulfilling to be a part of something bigger than yourself. Second, I want you to remember that everyday you’re confronted with things that require extra effort to make a positive impact. That could be anything from holding open the door for someone, putting your shopping cart back (which you should always do, by the way!), or even just helping someone out when they’re having a tough time. Think about WHY you would choose to do those things, and why the effort is worth it, and then speak to that purpose when you’re trying to ignite your community to do a positive change. Understand why you’re raising money and make sure that your values are very clear to your community. Every dollar counts. It can get hard. Really hard. Just know you’re not alone, and it’s worth it to push through. I’m also happy to help if you have any other questions about fundraising, so feel free to reach out to me, I’m very invested in your success!

1. Find your why. Why are you choosing to fundraise? Why are you choosing the cause that you are choosing? Explain to others why your “why” matters. (2.) There’s no such thing as failing when it comes to fundraising. Whether you raise $1, $10, $10,000, you are using your platform to do good by choosing to fundraise. Never underestimate yourself as a charity fundraiser! You’re a success no matter the amount you fundraise. (3.) Don’t be afraid to get those around you involved! I organize speedrun showcases and races and love nothing more than hearing from others who participate how amazing the experience of fundraising feels. Go out and meet like-minded people. Take the plunge and join a team! There are many others out there like you who want to see you succeed! You got this!

Don’t go overboard with rewards and incentives, do what’s easy and fun for you and JUST DO IT! ♡

I think first off it’s important to find a cause that is close to your heart. Don’t overthink it. Be your true authentic self and have fun with it. When people see that they will resonate with you and the cause that you’re supporting.

Remember that you are not only raising funds, you are raising awareness. Set a reasonable goal, celebrate hitting it, and then you can have fun with your stretch goals. Join a likeminded team because fundraising together is more fun and you’ll find a new friends!

Remember that every dollar counts when it comes to fundraising! Set a reasonable goal and your community may surprise you. We are stronger together and goals can always be raised ❤

You do NOT have to fundraise alone! The campaigns are made and run by me, but I wouldn’t do nearly as much good work without the help of some pretty amazing people. Hosting events like tournaments or even stream raid train marathons not only brings people together, but creates a collective goal for the group to just have fun, raise some money, and do some good. You don’t have to go about it alone, and even raising just a little bit can make it all worth it.

My biggest advice is to pick a cause you feel very stongly about. Your passion for the cause is what will drive you and your community to have the largest impact and enjoy the process.
