My username is a nod to the fact that I’m missing the top half of my right index finger. ;)
What is your favorite color?
Orange!
Why do you choose to fundraise?
I was inspired by others and I know that kind of positivity spreads. I was also hospitalized as a kid following the amputation procedure due to an infection, and am a parent of three. I focus heavily on charities that help kids to survive, but also to thrive. Sick and injured kids are still kids!
What is your favorite moment of fundraising?
Twitch very recently donated $5000 to my St Jude Creative fundraiser while we were being featured on the front page. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined such a thing happening when I started out.
What Tiltify tools have you used that made an impact on your fundraising?
Auctions and Donation Match have been an awesome new additions to our roster of tools to help drive donations. Auctions allow our community to contribute handmade and collectable items, including things that can be delivered digitally or commission slots from other artists. Donation Match has been incredible and I’ve even seen other fundraisers with multiple donation matches active, meaning the contributions are being tripled or quadrupled if the match is met! I also frequently use the overlays and talk a lot about how easy they make setting up a fundraiser.
What advice do you have for anyone fundraising for the first time?
Remember that you are not only raising funds, you are raising awareness. Set a reasonable goal, celebrate hitting it, and then you can have fun with your stretch goals. Join a likeminded team because fundraising together is more fun and you’ll find a new friends!
