First off, tell us about yourself! What type of content do you do?

I'm a tabletop charity content creator and since 2021 I've raised over $330,000 for charities through TTRPGs and Magic the Gathering streams, bundles, and auctions. I also make super specific good morning posts everyday :) I run ChariTTRPGs which is my intersection of my passion for fundraising and tabletop gaming. What inspired you to start fundraising? How many campaigns have you done?

My entire career has been in nonprofits and a majority has been spent in fundraising, I like it so much that I do it in my free time too. Since the fall of 2022 I have hosted at least one TTRPG charity stream one shot each and every month, I'll let you do the math on how many campaigns that is. :)

What is your favorite moment fundraising?

I don't think I have one favorite moment of fundraising. It's been incredible seeing my community come together and continue to support all these amazing causes. It fills my cup which is why I continue doing it month after month.

What Tiltify tools have you used that made an impact on your fundraising?
I've seen an uptik in donations since tiltify introduced matching gifts, that's been an amazing tool. Shoutout to BogusCheesecake who has been my $250 monthly matching gift donor for the last two years, you're the best, Tom! I also have really enjoyed using the tiltify auction house to make tabletop auctions!

What advice do you have for anyone fundraising for the first time?

Your charity stream/event is doing so much more than raising funds for a cause you care about. It’s raising awareness and giving free marketing to that charity. In a world where social marketing is everything, this is invaluable to nonprofits. Nonprofits run on tight budgets and minimal staff depending on their org size / funding. Whether you raise $5 or $5,000 you are helping them keep their lights on to continue focusing on their mission (which is what we want!) You could potentially connect someone in need to the services a nonprofit offers by hosting your stream/event, who might not have heard of them before. You might inspire another person to host a charity stream/event to benefit that charity or another charity! Your impact goes beyond the day/s you host your stream/event! So in conclusion, don’t let worrying about how much you might raise in charity streams/events stop you from hosting them. You’re making a big difference by donating your time, talents, and efforts to the cause!

What is a fun fact you'd like to share?

I'm really good at finding four-leaf clovers. I've probably found over 200 in my lifetime, including five, six, and seven leaf clovers. My tip is that if you ever find a four leaf clover keep looking in that patch, it's mutated so you're likely to find more!

Lastly, what is the next fundraising campaign you have planned?

In June I'll be hosting two TTRPG streams and a Commander stream to support Trans Lifeline and in July I'm hosting a tabletop team fundraiser to support DOTS RPG Project, an organization who created the world's first mass produced braille dice with blind and visually impaired tabletop gamers in mind.
