This week, we are featuring the amazing work of Halycon and the Halcyon Frequency Hot Potato Challenge!
Each year, they play Rimworld, sharing a single save file passed between over 40 content creators in one relay event. We run two events each year, one for Rimworld and one for Dwarf Fortress
We asked them some questions about their time fundraising for charity on Tiltify, so let’s get into it!
How much have you fundraised?
The Halcyon Frequency Hot Potato Charity Challenge has raised over $450,000 in its lifetime
What is the next fundraising campaign you have planned?
the 2024 Rimworld Hot Potato Challenge starting on the 26th of November
What is your favorite moment of fundraising?
Seeing so many people come together to support streamers big and small, smashing goals and all the chaos of Rimworld. Also the memes! Doctors Nodders Borders Nopers
What Tiltify tools have you used that made an impact on your fundraising?
We've used milestones, goals, and polls extensively, and have begun exploring donation matching as well, and we guide our creators in setting goals and rewards each year
What is a fun fact you’d like to share?
The Hot Potato challenge was dreamed up by Suwey (https://twitch.tv/Suwey) and she has featured the creator of Rimworld multiple times on these events!
What advice do you have for anyone fundraising for the first time?
Every little bit counts! No one is too small to start raising money for good causes!
