Community Spotlight: BeccaSomething
This week, we are featuring the amazing work of BeccaSomething (she/her)!
She describes her content as "Mostly Rust gameplay content, with a sprinkle of other games and a side of vlogging!"
We asked her some questions about her time fundraising for charity on Tiltify, so let’s get into it!
Tiltify | Twitter | Twitch | Instagram | Website
How much have you fundraised?
$19,211.08. I am about to add in around $950 by mid October from merch sales, making $20,161.08.
What is the next fundraising campaign you have planned?
Rust Community for Jingle Jam - 3 day Rust event where teams will battle to be the top dog, all for the fantastic charities Jingle Jam are supporting this year! It's an honour to fundraise for Jingle Jam, which I have watched religiously for years!
What is your favorite moment of fundraising?
The amazing content created from the events I have organised. There are far too many moments to choose from! The content created from the events I organise is thousands of hours across multiple streams. One thing I love about these events is how they bring people together. It really shows how the community will band together for a great cause.
Why do you choose to fundraise?
I get great satisfaction knowing I can help others who may need it. If I can impact another person by just dedicated some of my time, then that is payment enough for me!
What Tiltify tools have you used that made an impact on your fundraising?
Overlays are KEY, a live goal on stream shows how well you are working, Milestones also break down the main goal into smaller goals you can celebrate with the community. Using the matching donation challenge was also really great for our last event. People donated more during this period as they felt their donation was being doubled! I look forward to trying out the auction house for next year, I think we could make some fun auctions for the Rust community!
What is a fun fact you’d like to share?
I have been playing video games for 30 years! I unpaused my dads game of DOOM when I was 3, and he came back to his little girl killing monsters all by herself. He couldnt be more proud! The rest is history :)
What advice do you have for anyone fundraising for the first time?
Don't be scared! Think up fun milestones for you and your community to work towards. Anything that makes you look silly really helps! Every single dollar raised will help your chosen charity, and that is the most important part.
