How much have you fundraised?

$24,002.43

What is your favorite moment of fundraising?

My favorite memory from one of my campaigns so far was hitting $5,000 for St. Jude in 2019. I pushed myself so hard to fundraise as much as possible that year, which resulted in some of the funnest streams I’ve ever had — filled with joy, laughter, and tears. My friends, family, and community all came together and made it happen… We hit $5,000! There’s truly no greater feeling than knowing that those around you believe in you and are willing to contribute their time, energy, and money to support something that matters to you. I’m so proud of everyone involved, it was truly a life changing moment to hit $5,000. Also, I’m hoping to beat that personal record this year!

Why do you choose to fundraise?

To put it simply, I fundraise because I can. I’m so lucky to be able to prioritize fundraising in my life. To have a desk to stream from, to have health to dance Rasputin 15 times in a row with. I’ll share my time, community, and platform for fundraising because I truly believe the world is better when we all put in effort to support those who need it. I want my community to understand the impact they can have and I want to build a community of people who care about helping their neighbors. All of these goals are in line with charity fundraising. But secretly, another big reason is because I want an excuse to sing karaoke because someone else paid for me to do it. I love karaoke, and nobody ever asks me to because I’m a terrible singer. (Kidding… kind of.)

What Tiltify tools have you used that made an impact on your fundraising?

Incentives, incentives, incentives! I’ve had so much fun coming up with a bunch of random and fun incentives over the years. Anything from drawings to beanboozled beans all the way to squats and dabs. I love being able to do something silly in the interest of something serious. Incentives make it possible to keep the streams going, keep things engaging, and help me make it easy to see an immediate effect of my community’s generous donations.

What is a fun fact you’d like to share?

I’m in a Mr. Beast video! I won Rock-Paper-Scissors against a YouTuber. #BleedPurple

What advice do you have for anyone fundraising for the first time?

First, DO IT! It’s so amazing to use your stream to raise money for important causes. It gives you and your community purpose, and it’s so fulfilling to be a part of something bigger than yourself. Second, I want you to remember that everyday you’re confronted with things that require extra effort to make a positive impact. That could be anything from holding open the door for someone, putting your shopping cart back (which you should always do, by the way!), or even just helping someone out when they’re having a tough time. Think about WHY you would choose to do those things, and why the effort is worth it, and then speak to that purpose when you’re trying to ignite your community to do a positive change. Understand why you’re raising money and make sure that your values are very clear to your community. Every dollar counts. It can get hard. Really hard. Just know you’re not alone, and it’s worth it to push through. I’m also happy to help if you have any other questions about fundraising, so feel free to reach out to me, I’m very invested in your success!
