QuickyBaby’s Charity Marathon: £50,000+ Raised in 14 Hours for a Great Cause!
Raising over £50,000 in just 14 hours is no small feat, but for QuickyBaby and his incredible community, it was a mission they tackled with enthusiasm, generosity, and a bit of spice (literally). Supporting SpecialEffect and Cancer Research UK, this fundraising powerhouse combined engaging incentives, hilarious on-stream challenges, and a deep personal connection to the causes.
When it comes to charity fundraising, QuickyBaby is a name that stands out. A full-time content creator since 2012, he has dedicated over a decade to entertaining his audience and making a difference. With nearly $480,000 raised since 2013, his passion for giving back is as strong as his love for World of Tanks. This year, he took things to another level, raising an incredible £50,000+ in just 14 hours for SpecialEffect and Cancer Research UK.
But this wasn’t just any fundraiser. It was a carefully planned, community-driven event, filled with high-stakes donation polls, ridiculous challenges, and heartwarming moments. From modding (or banning) a beloved viewer to chugging increasingly painful hot sauces, the stream was packed with engagement and excitement. So, how did he make it happen? And what can you learn from his success? Let’s dive in!

QuickyBaby set a goal of £10,000 for SpecialEffect
How did you decide on the specific cause or charity to support?
I started fundraising in 2013 for Cancer Research UK as my father survived prostate cancer a few decades ago. I can't imagine my life without him. This shouldn't be a privilege. I also started fundraising for SpecialEffect that year. SpecialEffect is a charity that helps those with disabilities still enjoy gaming. Gaming should be accessible for all; it's given me so many great memories and brought me closer to friends and family. I met some of my best friends in WoW twenty years ago and I met my wife through Twitch. Gaming brings us together and provided unparalleled escapism. Everyone should have access.
Since 2013? $479,509.11 adjusted for £/$. In 2024? $63,000
QuickyBaby also fundraised for Cancer Research UK
Can you walk us through some of the goals and incentives you set up for viewers during the stream? Which ones were the most popular?
There was a vote to either make me play my most hated vehicle, or my favourite, for two hours. I was surprised to see the audience let me play my favourite! There was also a vote to mod or ban a famous viewer within my community. He got mod for 100 days, in the final 10 seconds! I also had 12 different levels of hot sauce that I consumed at different goals. I had multiple (simple) costumes that I dressed up into.
I'm fortunate enough to have fundraised 12 years, it's all about planning. I had my scenes from last year, which I updated and spent days and days making sure everything was perfect and worked. The actual day goes so fast you must be prepared for it.
