First off, tell us a bit about yourself and your content.
I am 36 years old, I am married and 3 beautiful boys. 9, 4 and 7 months old! My wife definately carries the team in this household. I am well known for catching people who cheat in the game Rust. I do many things to discrupt people who cheat in Rust from putting a rocket up their bum and sending them into the air to explode, Having a shark come out of the ground and pick the player up and pull them back under the ground, I also can make them get on all 4's and snort like a pig and people can ride them around! Not so known for doing the dishes or clothes at home!
What inspired you to start a fundraising stream, and why did you choose Tiltify as your platform?
I have always been someone who likes to help. That is why 7 years ago I decided to stop playing Rust and give up my spare time to catch cheaters in Rust. I do not get paid to do it but have managed to make a living out of it from making content on it. I used to take donations to my paypal and then forward a lump sum to the charity I was raising for, But all that money looks like it comes from me! and it doesnt. It's all of my community that is very generous to support. Tilitfy make it so much easier as you can donate and get a reciept and here in Australia you can claim it back on tax! One thing I always tell my commuinity if you dont have to always donate, Do many other things like give up your free time to help do something in your community or if you are at a shopping mall and you are walking past someone who is putting all their groceries in the car ask them if you could take their shopping cart back for them. I always show my kids to be nice in life, there is too much hate sometimes. A smile is free. The feeling you get from helping someone is something I love
How did you decide on the specific cause or charity to support?
Cancer is something close to me. I used to work in a Hospital that had a cancer ward. Many of my family members have lost their lives to all sorts of cancer and have also survived cancer. It's a POS. I had neighbours move into a newly built house next door to mine last Christmas 2023 and it was about to piss down here, I didn't know them from a bar of soap but I went next door and offered to help them unpack the removalist truck. They were so thankful that I came to help. You don't always have to donate money to help out with something. Why this story is relevant to this is that the neighbours are an older couple around their 60's and they moved here to downgrade from their bigger home they had. about 1 month after they moved in the husband got some unfortunate news that he had cancer and it was really bad and aggressive and was spreading fast all through his body. Unfortunately he lost his battle about July this year. Thats how quickly and unexpected Cancer can sneak up on you. We are still so close to the wife and I even offer to help whatever she needs around the house, mowing the lawn, taking her bins out.
So far this month I am about $12,500 for cancer research.
Can you walk us through some of the goals and incentives you set up for viewers during the stream? Which ones were the most popular?
Unfortunately I didn't set up any incentives. I only had my own personal goal to hit $10,000.
Nope, Tiltify makes it so easy. Plus I have some help from GoToGame and Jack Huddo who helps out so much with setting stuff up and keeping me on top of it all.
My community always surprises me. I do get the unwanted few in my streams because of the toxicity from people cheating in Rust but the majority of the people are amazing.
I am so basic. I don't get too fancy or technical with anything and my stuff is pretty straight forward.
Just go for it. Anyone of all sizes. Just remember it doesn't matter if it's $1 or $100 every bit helps. As a viewer even sharing the link on your own socials or around to your friends is a massive help.
