Charities and Community Supporting: Trans Day of Visibility
Trans Day of Visibility is an annual day to recognize the accomplishments of transgender and gender nonconforming people, as well as raising awareness for what still needs to be done to elevate trans rights and justice.
We’re recognizing community members, campaigns and organizations dedicated to these efforts on Tiltify. Follow our social channels for more!
Featured Organizations
Trans Lifeline advocates on behalf of trans people, and works to build a resilient trans community through direct services designed, provided, and coordinated by trans peers. The Hotline is there to provide peer support to trans people who need it, including in moments of crisis and suicidality. The Microgrants program provides low-barrier grants to trans people in need of legal name changes and updated IDs — as well as specialized support for trans people who are incarcerated or detained.
Our goal is to cultivate more LGBTQ+ visibility in all levels of sports, especially in public and private schools, across Maryland. Our mission is to encourage LGBTQ+ and allied youth ages 5–18 years to participate in sports and fitness activities. The more youth see people like them in the media, the more they will feel comfortable being their true authentic selves. We believe that more visibility of LGBTQ+ athletes will remove some of the archaic stereotypes that exist in sports, especially with respect to transgender athletes.
The GenderCool Project is a youth-led movement replacing misinformed opinions with powerful, positive experiences meeting transgender and non-binary youth who are thriving. Through education, advocacy, leadership development and visibility, GenderCool is uniquely impacting culture, policy and business worldwide.
Trans Women of Color Collective
Trans Women of Color Collective (TWOCC) was created to cultivate economic opportunities and affirming spaces for Black and brown gender expansive people and our families to build community and engage in healing and restorative justice through arts, culture, media, advocacy and activism.
